The School of Information Technologies and Engineering (SITE) at ADA University invites candidates of professional accomplishment to apply for the Lab Coordinator position starting in the Spring 2023 semester. As the Lab Administrator, you will work with faculty to maintain lab equipment and workspace in order and prepare lab rooms for scheduled lab sessions. The successful candidate will have a technical background, be familiar with different types of equipment, know lab procedures and understand the importance of maintaining a clean workspace by following all lab regulations for health and safety.

In addition to having strong attention to detail, you must be responsible and demonstrate excellent communication skills. If you thrive in academic environment that require a professional with drive and responsibility, then you could be our ideal candidate.

Responsibilities

• Maintain e.g. classify and label the lab inventory;
• Support faculty in preparing lab rooms for classes;
• Design the annual activity plan for promoting innovation culture among students and faculty, as well as exploring investment and commercialization opportunities.
• Agree the annual activity plan with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure effective implementation of the annual activity plan, including major events such as the ADA Innovation Award, training sessions, mentor talks, bootcamps, hackathons, etc.
• Comply with the standard procedures, policies, and health and safety regulations;
• Stay informed with the latest industry trends, techniques, and best practices;
• Document all activities, results and report back to management;
• Keep equipment and work area clean and tidy;
• Undertake basic administrative tasks such as filing;
• Perform hardware and software product testing;
• Undertake any other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical-Electronics Engineering, Computer Science or similar;
• Experience with maintaining inventory;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills both in English and Azerbaijani;
• Good understanding of laboratory systems and laboratory equipment. Good knowledge in Laboratory Virtual Instruments such as Multisim, LabVIEW and programming and numeric computing platform such as MATLAB.
• Ability to engage with students and faculty, understand their needs and requirements.
• Experience in managing and delivering projects, organizing, and running trainings, making presentations.
• Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and to work with minimal supervision.
• Awareness of the local and global start-up/innovation trends, and desire to self-develop.
• Ability to develop a strong network of contacts within industry and academia.
